What going on with Black men? Unfortunately some Black men are not taking care of business. Some Black men are fathering many children and failing to take care of their responsibilities forcing their children to search out father figures elsewhere. Black men are not realizing the importance of an education because without it life will become very difficult. What going on with Blackman? Black men are committing genocide to their own people. These acts are the reason for some stereotypes put upon Black men; consequently they must try harder to do better.
The act of some Black men not taking care of their kids is seen everywhere. According to Bill Cosby, “roughly seventy percent of black babies are born each year to single mothers.” These types of fathers that leave their children to be raised by the mother do not comprehend the importance of their presence in the children’s lives. Some of these fatherless children grow up and do the same thing their fathers did, thus continuing the cycle. In a child’s life, a male role model is necessary in the development of that child. A male role model can teach him how to be a man in general. If a child never seen a real man how can we expect him to become one? If a child does not have a father present, that they will most likely search out that father figure. Some children search out the wrong type of father figures, like a drug dealer, because they see his status in the hood and what to live like him. The lack of father figures has led too many children down a path of doom and despair. This type of deception causes the child to neglect what should be important in their lives, education.
“In some cities Black men have high school drop out rates of more than fifty percent.” The cause for this terrible statistics is the fact that too many young brothers believe that an education is obsolete and they can make more money on streets. Some just go to school and sit in the classes, not paying attention to eventually flunk out. They do not realize that without a high school diploma, they cannot even get a job at McDonald. Life without an education is a hard one. Without an education, you can not support yourself. “About one- third of the homeless are black men”, if you ask about how they got to this point, most will the decisions they made as young man lead them down this path. People in hard time will do whatever to survive even kill.
“Homicide is the number one cause of death for Black men between fifteen and twenty- nine years of age and has been for decades. Also ninety- four of all black people who are murdered are murdered by other black people.” Without a doubt they are committing genocide on their own people. All this murdering derives from the self hate some black men harbor for each other. If they had a little more love for their fellow men, this problem would not exist. In some black communities black men cannot even walk in certain place in fear of them getting beat down.
What is going on with Black men? Black men have a lot of turmoil deriving from their family dynamics, priorities, and self hate towards each other. These plagues are skewing the image of Black men and farther solidifying the stereotypes.
