Recession is a general slowdown in economic activity in a country over a sustained period of time, or a business cycle contraction. During recessions, many macroeconomic indicators vary in a similar way. Production as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment, investment spending.
How does one deal with the effects of the mistakes us as a country and the economy has made for our self? We have been faced with more questions than answers and as a economy we can only accept and cope. Not only people but businesses have also been hurt or thrown off by effects of the money eater. In a recent interview with the general manger at one of the most successful fast food chains in the U.S., Culver’s, I got their interpretation on how the recession has affect ted their business. Often when there is an economic downfall business have to adjust their spending to still maximize their profit and minimize money lost.
The recession has caused the company to decrease the amount of supply needed and that applies to products and labor which leads to the standstill in workers hired and let go. The workers want to hold on to their job, but if culvers were hiring then they would prefer older employees. This has caused culver’s to open their eyes and watch things more closely and trying to find any good alternative. I don’t think anyone can guess when we will have a recession and Culver’s of Lansing were one of the businesses not quit recession proofed. In the past business year, 2007, Culver’s has done pretty well for themselves, as far as promotion and business sales. They thought things were going so well that they didn’t even bother to repeat the process the following year causing a great decrease in the things needed to have the best possible outcome.
No body is recession proof. We can only try our hardest to keep things Intact. Things will get better.
